Pursuant to the DepEd Memorandum No. 168, s. 2011, Dumanlas Elementary School conducted a culminating activity for the teachers on World Teachers’ Day Celebration (Theme: My Teacher, My Hero) on October 05, 2011. The said activity aims to
a. highlight the unique role, service and commitment which teachers play in
guiding the families, strengthening the communities, and building the
nation;
b. revitalize the image of and respect for teachers as a vocation by increasing
public awareness on the value of teachers in Philippine society and in
national development;
c. use the occasion to call on everyone to contribute in making teaching as an
attractive profession and in giving teachers the needed support and
assistance;
d. generate widespread support for teachers in particular and education in
general; and,
e. express gratitude sincerely for the positive influences teachers had on the
Filipino learners.
The celebration of the worlds’ Teachers’ Day started with the ringing of the school bells in synchronization of the World Teachers’ Day Celebration last October 5, 2011. The National prayer for the teachers was recited by all the pupils and teachers of Dumanlas Elementary School. All Teachers in school took a break from their classroom duties to give way for special classroom/school programs. Grade VI pupils handled the classes from Kinder I - Grades VI on behalf of the teachers. School is required to conduct a culminating activity for the teachers on World Teachers’ Day
